Biography

I was born in 1949. I visited school till 1968 in Stuttgart, then I studied History of Arts and History in Tübingen and Berlin. In 1976 I became a freelance political cartoonist. But I also had jobs as a poster artist, illustrator and designer. I’m still living and working in Berlin.There are several daily newspapers in Germany publishing my cartoons (Tagesspiegel, TAZ, Financial Times Deutschland, Leipziger Volkszeitung and others), also Tagesanzeiger in Switzerland, and there are some weekly magazines (Euro am Sonntag, Welt am Sonntag, Freitag) and one cartoon magazine (Eulenspiegel). I was so lucky to get some cartoon-prizes and awards: The First Prize of “Deutscher Preis für politische Karikatur” in 1997, the First Prize of “Rückblende” in 2000, 2002 and 2008, the Second Prize of “Rückblende” in 2004 and the Audience Award of “Deutscher Karikaturenpreis” in 2007.
